Vinification

La cuverie

Our stainless steel tanks are fitted with a thermo-regulation system for perfect temperature control during the wine-making process and optimum conservation of the wines.

Tasting

Before bottling, the most delicate operation of the year consists in tasting samples of all the different wines (those made from different plots and the reserve wines) in order to determine the ideal proportions for each blend. It is at this precise moment that the different cuvées are created.

Vazart-Coquart cellars

Long years of ageing in the cellars are essential if the wine is to blossom into the fullness of its potential. After riddling and disgorging, our bottles of champagne are finally ready to grace your table.

A little glossary

What exactly does Blanc de Blancs mean?

Literally “white wine made from white grapes”, which explains this particular spelling. In Champagne, this means that the wine has been made exclusively from Chardonnay, the only white grapes allowed in the region.

And a Millésime (vintage)?

This is simply a wine from one sole year particularly suitable for ageing. In Champagne, the vast majority of wines sold are ‘sans année” (no specific year), meaning that several different years have been blended.

Galipe

A plot of vines in the patois of the Champagne region.
